Sugar is a tricky bastard. A little bit can be totally enjoyable but consume too much and you can end up with headaches, bloated stomach, no energy, restless sleep and skin breakouts! Knowing how much is too much can be tricky too. Generally it’s recommended that you stay under 25g if added sugar per day but you may find it depends what kind of sugar or maybe 25g is just way too much for you! I say, listen to your body and eat mindfully. You’ll learn your limits and start recognizing the signs your body sends you.

SIGNS THAT YOU MAY HAVE A SUGAR ADDICTION
YOU CRAVE SUGARY FOODS AT LEAST ONCE A DAY
This can be the obvious sugary choices but it can also be refined carbs like a bagel!
YOU KEEP EATING sugar EVEN after you’re FULL
Maybe you reach for something sweet after eating an already filling meal or maybe when it comes to sugar you keep consuming it even after you’re brain tells you you’re full.
YOU EAT SUGARY FOODS just because
Ever find yourself eating sweets for no apparent reason? It’s not nutritious and you’re not hungry… yet you’re eating it.
YOU MAKE EXCUSES TO EAT SUGAR
Maybe you tell yourself it’s a healthier sugar so it’s okay to eat more of it but really too much of any kind of processed sugar isn’t good for you.
you go to the store just to buy yourself something sugary
Or you can’t leave the store without buying something sugary!
You reward yourself with sugar
Rewarding yourself with food can be a slippery slope, especially when it comes to sugar.
you hide the amount of sugar you consume
Maybe you have chocolate hidden in the back of the pantry or candy in a desk at work and you only eat it when you’re alone.
YOU’VE TRIED TO CONSUME LESS SUGAR BUT IT NEVER STICKS
