Moms are always encouraged to make and freeze some meals before baby arrives but how many of us actually do it?  In my defense, I did try last time but baby was 2 weeks “late” and by then I’d eaten most of it haha This time around I haven’t frozen much but I do plan on getting help where I can!  I’ve used meal prep services before and while they can still be a lot of work, they are delicious and at least your grocery shopping is done for you!  I’ve also been looking into meal deliveries where the meal is already made, all you have to do is heat it up!

I think the important thing is to get the nutrition you need, however you can. Post-delivery is just like post-surgery! Your body has been through a lot and it needs to be nourished. Plus, if you’re breastfeeding, you may require an extra 500 calories!

Below I’ve rounded up some great vegan options for both meal prep and meal delivery.

Chip and Kale – Plant based meals delivered nation-wide! Great option if you live somewhere that doesn’t have many local vegan options. There is also a gluten-free option! Prices range from $107-$179 to feed up to 8 people.  The meals look delicious and well balanced plus they do include the nutritional info in case you’re wanting that. There’s a new menu every week! Chip and Kale delivers dinner meals not breakfast or snacks.

Veestro – Plant based meals, snacks, soups, desserts and juice delivered nation-wide. Prices range from $8-$10 per meal and juices are $6. They do have gluten-free options. One thing I like about Veestro is you can pick and choose a la carte or choose a meal plan. Definitely lots of variety with Veestro!

Fancy Plants (Portland) – This is a local service but one I plan on trying out. They deliver breakfast, soup, salad and entrees up to twice a week for $8-$10 plus free delivery. They use a lot of local, organic ingredients and keep the meals fairly simple. They do have gluten free options.

Hungry Root – This is a vegan meal prep service that delivers meals, sides and desserts that take less than 20min to make! You can build your own box or choose a curated one ($59 for 3 meals and 4 sides or $79 for 5 meals and 5 sides). Meals are under 500 calories and gluten free.

Green Chef – This is a meal prep service I’ve used many times and love! It’s all organic and plant based. The meals are whole foods based and taste delicious! They do take a bit of effort to actually make but as long as you don’t mind cooking, the pay off is worth it.  I find each meal makes a lot so I always had leftovers.  There are Paleo, Keto, Vegetarian, Carnivore, Omnivore and Gluten Free options. Prices range from $10.49 to $15 per meal.

Purple Carrot – Plant based meal prep service that I’ve used a couple times and loved. Prices range from $10-$13 per meal.  There’s also a “high performance” option if you need more protein! I found with this service that the meals weren’t necessarily what I’d normally eat so it forced me out of my comfort zone which I liked. The meals are very healthy!

22 Days Nutrition – Organic, plant based meal delivery that are delivered fresh never frozen.  Prices range from $10.50-$12.50 per meal. There are breakfast, lunch and dinner options. You can choose a plan or a la carte. If 22 Days Nutrition sounds familiar it’s because Beyoncé and Jay Z helped create it 😉

Fresh n Lean – Meal delivery service for plant based, paleo or low carb. Meal plans or a la carte options. Prices range from $9.33-$12.99 per meal. I like that you can choose to add extra items! They have breakfast, entrée and dessert options.

Mamasezz – Plant based meals delivered to your door! You can order a la carte or choose a bundle.  Bundles are $89-$99 and have 10-14 servings!  They have snacks, sides and entrees to choose from.
