I feel like I’ve been building up to this shopping ban for a while. I attempted a 30 day “no buy” back in April but didn’t quite make it. I’ve just had this nagging feeling that I need to SHOP LESS. It has been showing up in different ways in my life lately- lots of signs!  I have multiple reasons for wanting to do it, which I’ll share below, but ultimately it’s about control.

I decided to take part in the Winter 10×10 style challenge last month! I was feeling really sick of my “post partum” clothes so I thought that this would be a great way to get me excited about getting dressed in the morning again! And it did help. It forced me to make more of an effort which felt good. I also realized that I do own a LOT of clothes still! I was feeling like hardly anything fits me but really,

It has been a while since I shared a recipe here! Beckett and I love to bake together and cookies are always a favourite. Oddly, he really prefers the dough over the actual cookie… but hey, more cookies for me!  This particular recipe is great because it’s packed with more nutrients (and you can easily make it gluten free!). It’s a pretty forgiving recipe… which is important when you’re cooking with a kid because your measuring will never be exact!

This post is for all of you hard working mamas who lay awake at night with a long to do list running through your head or have to wake up every few hours to feed a hungry baby- I see you!  We all love sleep and yet many of us don’t get enough of it or we get enough but it’s not the high quality sleep we yearn for.  So I’m going to share my top tips not only for getting a better night’s rest but also how to fake it if you didn’t!

I’ve put together this list of post natal exercises so that you can workout in a safe but effective way after having a baby!  It can be time consuming to scroll through YouTube or Google search for workouts so I’ve done the work for you!

I purchased this program from Good for the Swole and will be starting it… today! I think it’s a great intro back into exercise after having a baby.

The first few months (or longer!) can be an awkward time style-wise.  You’re so excited to wear “regular clothes” again but your body looks drastically different. A lot of your clothes probably don’t even fit! But I am a firm believer in dressing for the body you have not the body you want. What I mean is, wear clothes that fit and make you feel awesome NOW! Don’t wait. Trust me, you will be so much happier if you have clothes you feel good in even if your body isn’t as the weight or size that you want it to be at.

After I had my first baby, I did a series of “Body after baby” posts because I felt like post partum bodies weren’t being shown or talked about enough.  I didn’t know what to expect my body to look like (or feel like) post partum because people weren’t openly talking about their experiences!  Part of what I love to use this blog for, is to shed light on topics just like this…

By “new moms”, I mean mom’s with a new baby! Doesn’t matter if it’s your first or sixth, having a new baby is amazing but CHALLENGING!  I think we can all agree we can use the extra help during that time, right?  Since the holidays are quickly approaching, I thought I’d round up some great gift ideas whether it’s for Christmas or a baby shower or a sip n see (what I plan on doing this time!) or a “holy crap you just had a baby let me get you something”

I was recently in Target, as usual, trying on a bunch of clothes and thought it’d be fun to share here!  I’m excited to see Fall stuff hitting stores although I’m really limiting what I buy since I’m pregnant.

Some of these items are maternity but some are not!  So this post isn’t just for my pregnant ladies.

Oh and Beckett woke up from a nap right as I was starting to try things on so he was pretty unhappy at first…

I was breastfed as a baby and just always assumed that unless I was actually unable to, I would choose to breastfeed my own children. I understand that this isn’t a choice everyone makes and I’ll admit, sometimes I do feel frustrated when I see a mom choosing formula because she’s afraid breastfeeding will make her nipples weird (or something to that affect) because to me that’s not a strong enough reason to deprive your child of something that is SO SO good for them!
