Have you heard of Thrive Market?  It’s my go to store since moving to North Carolina.  There aren’t too many health foods stores in the area but I can get a lot of great stuff at Thrive Market (and at a low price).

It’s a membership site sort of like Costco or Amazon Prime. You pay $60ish a year to have access to it but the products are all sold at a discounted price!

Guys, I have a total weakness for baked goods. Mmm. It’s partially a “comfort” thing because I grew up baking with my mom and sisters. It makes me happy!  My 3 year old already bakes with me all the time. We try to balance making healthier dishes with treats like this though.  He’s not even a big cinnamon roll eater- he just wants the icing and sugar haha

I know I just posted a recipe here the other day but I had to get this recipe up in time for Mother’s Day because there is no treat I’d want more than this one!

Bowls are one of my favourite meals to make especially when I don’t have anything planned. You can make them using just about any grain (or no grain at all), protein and veggies!  They’re also easy to customize for individual preferences, like if one kid hates avocado or one person wants chicken then you can do that because you’re making everything individually.  This combo I’m sharing with you is one of my favourites! The flavours balance one another so nicely.

I asked you guys if you wanted me to share this recipe on  my blog despite it not being the most “nutritious” and you said YES so here you go!

Placenta

Okay, I know, some people are totally grossed out by the thought of keeping and consuming your placenta…  but I really do feel like it helps with recovery! With my first baby I had it encapsulated but with my second I consumed it raw in a smoothie where I couldn’t taste it at all! In fact, I found the encapsulated pills had a stronger taste.  I definitely “bounced back” energy-wise a lot faster after my second baby;

It has been a while since I shared a recipe here! Beckett and I love to bake together and cookies are always a favourite. Oddly, he really prefers the dough over the actual cookie… but hey, more cookies for me!  This particular recipe is great because it’s packed with more nutrients (and you can easily make it gluten free!). It’s a pretty forgiving recipe… which is important when you’re cooking with a kid because your measuring will never be exact!

Moms are always encouraged to make and freeze some meals before baby arrives but how many of us actually do it?  In my defense, I did try last time but baby was 2 weeks “late” and by then I’d eaten most of it haha This time around I haven’t frozen much but I do plan on getting help where I can!  I’ve used meal prep services before and while they can still be a lot of work,

Today I’m sharing the last of my Fall oatmeal recipe series! Make sure you check out the previous two- yum!

Oats:
Oats are low calorie yet filling!  They are high in both fiber and protein.  They help stable blood sugar levels thanks to their high levels of magnesium.
