Can you guys believe we’re almost at June already? Kinda blows my mind. Between Summer coming and moving to a much more humid climate, I’m changing up my skincare routine a bit and thought I’d share with you guys!  I’ll let you know what my favourites have been as well as some other products I’m thinking about trying.

NYR Organic products are free of parabens, phthalates, fragrance, animal products (except from bees),

Let’s talk about skin because, you guys, I feel like we moved to NC and suddenly it was Spring! Some days it even feels like Summer! Aaand I quickly realized my skin wasn’t feeling totally ready to be on display! haha My feet and legs can get a little neglected during Winter, you know?

I quickly got into a routine of exfoliating and moisturizing! It makes all the difference. It also helps your tanning lotion go on smoother (I use this one)!

Placenta

Okay, I know, some people are totally grossed out by the thought of keeping and consuming your placenta…  but I really do feel like it helps with recovery! With my first baby I had it encapsulated but with my second I consumed it raw in a smoothie where I couldn’t taste it at all! In fact, I found the encapsulated pills had a stronger taste.  I definitely “bounced back” energy-wise a lot faster after my second baby;

  1. High Powered Blender – Personally I have a refurbished Vitamix and I LOVE it! I use it at least once a day. It doesn’t completely replace a food processor but for smoothies it can’t be beat.
  2. Essential Oils – I’ve linked to NYR Organic since I represent them but there are lots of great companies out there. No, there is not ONE company you must buy from or that has the “best essential oils”.

Why go natural & organic during your pregnancy? Here are just some of the benefits…

  • What you put on your body can affect you as well as your unborn baby.  It has been said that women use an average of 12 personal care products a day which means they could be exposed to over one hundred unique chemical ingredients some of which may not be good for their health!
  • Your hormones change when you’re pregnant which effects your skin greatly Switching your skincare to natural and organic products can be much gentler on your sensitive skin.

Luckily for me, I’ve discovered a lot of wonderful products to help me feel more prepared for Summer!  These products are cruelty free and on the more “natural side” (low rating on ThinkDirty and EWG Skin Deep!)… because last thing I need to do is smear potentially dangerous chemicals all over myself!!

I am a sucker for an easy, natural DIY project so I’m excited to share this one with you guys today.  It’s super duper easy but packed full of benefits!

I’m a big fan of serums…and oils. They are my go to for skin care, for sure. I’ve been using various oils on my skin for years now. I was skeptical at first (I know it’s easy to think that oil would make your skin oily and gross but it’s the opposite I swear!) but they definitely won me over big time.
