  1. High Powered Blender – Personally I have a refurbished Vitamix and I LOVE it! I use it at least once a day. It doesn’t completely replace a food processor but for smoothies it can’t be beat.
  2. Essential Oils – I’ve linked to NYR Organic since I represent them but there are lots of great companies out there. No, there is not ONE company you must buy from or that has the “best essential oils”.

I turn 30 on July 11! The big 3-0!

Honestly, I’m excited about it.  For the most part I’m really happy with where I am in my life, at this age.  I feel comfortable going into my 30’s and that’s a good feeling.

I always make a wish list for my birthday. Not because I expect gifts but because I like lists. haha This year’s kinda made me chuckle because it’s so grown up.

Why I love chia seeds…

HIGH in nutrients, LOW in calories… making them quite the superfood! They are also great for weight loss. Get in the nutrients without “worrying” that you’re eating too many calories.

High in fiber. 1oz contains 10g of fiber! Did you know that eating at least 25g (the recommended daily amount) can help boost your metabolism by 30%!?  Fiber is also important because it helps regulate blood sugar levels and keeps inflammation at bay- two VERY important things for your health!

What This Wellness Coach Eats

I get a lot of questions about what I eat in a day so I’m here to share!

As you probably know, I follow a vegan (plant based) diet and have for over 5 years now. It makes me feel amazing! I’ve always said if it didn’t, if I felt it was no longer working for me, I would honor that and change things up but so far so good!

Fist of all, I love to bake and cookies are for sure a favourite! I grew up baking with my mom and sisters so there’s something SO comforting about it to me!  Of course, as a health-conscious person I can’t be eating sugary cookies all day every day but a treat now and then?

One thing I always recommend to anyone who is looking to get healthier or adopt a more plant-based diet is to get creative!! Think outside of your comfort zone and try new foods or even just new food combinations!  Of course a great way to do this is with cook books.

I’ve rounded up some great vegan-friendly cookbooks… and they are all under $5!! Some are even free.

It’s no secret that vegan-friendly products are the rise! More and more people are turning to plant based products whether it’s for health reasons, the environment or for animal-rights.  One product that I’ve really seen explode is vegan eggnog!  There are SO many options now!  So I decided to try a few (okay, five) to see which one was the BEST!

I always liked eggnog growing up although I often thinned it out with some regular milk because it was SO thick.

I’m back with another baby eats post! I suppose once Beckett turns two I’ll change it to “toddler eats”.  😉

B is currently 1 1/2 years old.  He’s still plant based and generally eats a lot of the same things I eat. We still really limit his sugar intake (besides fruit) but a few bites of coconut ice cream here and there doesn’t bother me.  He recently had a bit of a cold (so did I) but otherwise has been the picture of health!
