I’m a bit obsessive when it comes to packing for trips. I don’t know why… I’m not usually a very organized person but there’s something about traveling that brings it out in me, I guess!  I’ll pack a week early, plan out outfits, buy travel sized items etc  So when my husband and I decided we were going to drive to North Carolina (from WA State), I started planning it out right away!

This little ray on sunshine has been with us for over two months now! It actually feels weird to say that because already life before her seems FOREVER ago! It’s as if she has always been with us. I think because she fits into our family so perfectly!  I was nervous about going from one to two children and don’t get me wrong it is very hard at times but overall I love it! And yes,

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration no longer recommends Tylenol for children younger than 4. and are  investigating whether these drugs are safe for older kids.  So if you weren’t open to holistic options before, maybe now is the time!

No one likes being sick and I think it feels even worse to see our kids sick! Prevention is important but even the healthiest people can’t always avoid getting sick so I think you need to have a game plan for both!

I’ve been a mom of two for one month now!

I’ll admit I was nervous about going from one child to two. Everyone says it’s a tough transition! And, well, they’re right. Haha But I had thought it’d be the newborn that felt like more work but really, for us, it’s not! Finnley is a pretty chill baby. She sleeps well (as long as she’s with someone) and only cries or fusses to be held/fed/changed.

Today is the cut off for most online deliveries to arrive by Christmas! And then the stores will be extra chaotic. haha I’m basically done shopping, just need a few groceries so I can make some things.  I really love giving gifts (it’s one of my love languages!) so I enjoy the whole Christmas shopping process. In fact, I kind of go through withdrawals when I’m done! Like, wait, I have to shop less now?

Our little girl, Finnley Raine made her arrival on Dec 2 at 3:25pm after just an hour of labour! She was born at home, on our bed, surrounded by my husband, mom and two midwives.  She’s 12 days old now and such a sweet sweet baby! Here is her birth story…  Oh, fair warning that it’s a bit graphic. I mean, birth IS graphic! I’m tired of it being glossed over and people having an unrealistic idea of what it looks like.

Well, I’m almost 40 weeks pregnant and pretty much ready for baby to make her arrival!  With my first, I planned a birth center birth but this time around I knew I wanted a home birth.  I will say, preparing for a home birth has definitely been more work but I’m really excited about it and thought I’d share some tips on getting prepared!  Also, if you’re freaked out by the idea of a home birth maybe this will help calm you a bit  haha

With the birth center,

I was breastfed as a baby and just always assumed that unless I was actually unable to, I would choose to breastfeed my own children. I understand that this isn’t a choice everyone makes and I’ll admit, sometimes I do feel frustrated when I see a mom choosing formula because she’s afraid breastfeeding will make her nipples weird (or something to that affect) because to me that’s not a strong enough reason to deprive your child of something that is SO SO good for them!

I turn 30 on July 11! The big 3-0!

Honestly, I’m excited about it.  For the most part I’m really happy with where I am in my life, at this age.  I feel comfortable going into my 30’s and that’s a good feeling.

I always make a wish list for my birthday. Not because I expect gifts but because I like lists. haha This year’s kinda made me chuckle because it’s so grown up.
